The Science Museum of Long Island held an Outdoor Screening of the Origional Jurassic Park on October 1, 2021 at the Leeds Pond Preserve. Guests were invited to bring a blanket and chairs as they enjoyed the movie on our large inflatable screen. Free popcorn was served to all the guests as well and the option to buy dinner and adult beverages from our various local food truck and dessert vendors. A highlight of the night was a special personalized video introduction by Dr. Jack Horner, a paleontologist who served as the technical advisor for all the Jurassic Park films, had a cameo appearance in Jurassic World, and served as a partial inspiration for one of the lead characters Dr. Alan Grant. Another highlight were lifesize dinosaur holograms that ran through the forrest and were projected on the building during the movie to make it seem like the dinosaurs were running through the woods or warching the movie with the attendants. After the wake of Covid, this was one of many large and safe outdoor events that the Science Museum threw as an attempt to bring the community back together in safe, social situations.
